Stella

In 2020, at only 4 year’s old Stella was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). On October 13, 2023, she rang the bell at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, signifying her transition to a survivor.

Bert’s Big Adventure was proud to provide reprieve, support, and magical moments for Stella and her family throughout her battle.

Toan

Toan has Arthrogryposis. He also has the spirit of a fighter and the heart of an optimist.

Customarily, a child with Arthrogryposis is cast the day they are born. However, although Toan’s loving mother and father, Stacey and Brandon, started Toan’s treatment immediately after he was adopted at four years old, it was behind typical protocol. Toan has had multiple surgeries, medically induced broken bones, painful treatments, rods and hardware, and more. He has faced challenges no 7-year-old child should ever have to endure.

Korbin

In 2021, at only 7 year’s old Korbin was diagnosed with Philadelphia Chromosome Positive B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. On October 6, 2023, he rang the bell at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, signifying his transition to a survivor.

Bert’s Big Adventure was proud to provide reprieve, support, and magical moments for Korbin and his family throughout his battle and beyond.

Layla

Layla has Spina Bifida. At only eight weeks old, Layla was found abandoned under a bridge in a small farm village in China. However, Layla is a fighter.

When she was only four years old, Layla underwent a 14-hour surgery. As a result, Layla catheterizes herself every 3 hours through her belly button and hooks up an IV bag to her port to flush her bowels out every night. Additionally, she has surgery once a year for ongoing care and hospital checkups every six months.
