The families were up bright and early for the last day of Bert’s Big Adventure 2019 and The Bert Show broadcast from ESPN Club at Disney’s Boardwalk. Many tears were shed as parents read personalized letters to their children before the flight home with our wonderful friends at Endeavor Air. The kiddos were spoiled in flight as Endeavor Air created custom VIP boarding passing, decorated the cabin of the airplane in Disney decor, passed out personalized cards signed by the crew, and served lunch and desserts with a smile! Upon arrival in to the hangar, the employees from Endeavor Air greeted the families with a DJ and a spontaneous dance party and lots and lots of hugs! The volunteers even carried each piece of luggage to the waiting limousines for our exhausted families.

Bert’s Big Adventure families were also surprised with huge bins filled with toys and activities at the end of their 5-day trip to Walt Disney World that the kids can enjoy all year-round. Toys were donated by The Bert Show’s co-host, Kristin Klingshirn, and her husband, Bart Mattingly. To learn more about Kristin and Bart’s donation, click here.

Bert’s Big Adventure kicked off the day with a VIP ride on the Animal Kingdom Kilimanjaro Safaris before the park was even open to the public! Our group encountered lions, rhinos, cheetahs, crocodiles, elephants, zebra, and more. The kiddos worked up an appetite on the expedition so we headed to breakfast at Restaurantosaurus. There we were joined by Pluto and surprise circus performers! After breakfast the group headed to watch the Broadway-style show, Festival of the Lion King! We had some magical moments as a couple of our kiddos were even chosen to play a special role in the performance!

The rest of the afternoon was spent riding roller coasters and exploring other Disney parks, like Hollywood Studios. Families headed to eat dinner on our own private patio while watching Fantasmic, an amazing open-air musical.

Bert’s Big Adventure spent the morning in Magic Kingdom – starting off with VIP access on Main Street and an exclusive view of Cinderella’s castle! We dined on a very special breakfast at Tony’s Town Square. Bert surprised the girls with visits to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for princess makeovers and also surprised the boys with pirate makeovers at The Pirates League.

We had an amazing dinner in Epcot followed by a very fancy dessert party in France. Make sure to follow all of the magical moments as they happen with the hashtag #BBA2019 and #MagicalMoments, or online on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook

On February 21st, the Bert’s Big Adventure crew embarked on its 17th annual trip to Walt Disney World. As part of the yearly tradition, the send-off party was full of excitement and laughs (and a few tears too!) as The Bert Show unveiled multiple surprises to the families during their live broadcast at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel.

Some of the surprises included an ACE 150 Polaris ATV generously donated by Mountain Motorsports, a 3-night Disney Cruise graciously gifted by Gas South with trip planning complimentary by Wishdrawals, and an amazing weekend trip to Talladega Superspeedway this fall to see NASCAR’s 1000bulbs.com 500 thanks to Rutledge Wood and Georgia’s Own Credit Union — including access to the Toyota Suite, a garage tour and a personal meet & greet with Kyle Busch! Stay tuned here- on the Bert’s Big Adventure website – throughout the next few weeks and months to see updates on these surprises!

The Jonesboro High School Drumline added even more excitement by performing as the families walked the red carpet!

Upon arrival, the kiddos were surprised with a custom set of Mickey ears crafted and created by Ears of Magic by Brooke and featuring some of their favorite characters! The 2019 family members gathered to mingle and dine on a delicious meal from Jersey Mike’s Subs followed by a Haagen-Dazs ice cream social.
