Today’s Fairy Godparent spotlight belongs to the amazing Trish! Trish began her magical journey with Bert’s Big Adventure as a fairy godparent in 2012 and has been such a helping hand ever since. Here’s what she has to say about her Fairy Godparent journey.
“I cannot possibly express how much pure JOY being a Fairy Godparent for Bert’s Big Adventure has brought me over the years. I joined in 2012 soon after moving to Atlanta from Chicago.”
“These little Warriors and their incredible families never cease to amaze me. In fact, ALL of the amazing folks involved with Bert’s Big Adventure, starting with The Bert Show Staff and Bert’s Big Adventure Staff, all of the volunteers– all Angels on earth.”
“I absolutely LOVE going to our 4 Bert’s Big Adventure Family Reunions each year (especially since they continue to GROW!!), not only to help with set-up/registration, but especially to PLAY with the kiddos and catch up with the families.”
“But I think what makes me happiest is when I get to go visit the kiddos when they are not feeling their best, bring them a smile, maybe a treat-spend a little time with them. Somehow or another,

Launched in May of 2010 through the Carter’s Charitable Foundation, our Fairy Godparent Volunteer Program supports Bert’s Big Adventure’s children and their families through the stress and uncertainty of hospitalizations. The beloved fairy godparents visit Bert’s Big Adventure kiddos at partner hospitals daily throughout their hospitalization, bringing toys, activities, food and a much-needed break for the entire family.
In addition to the Fairy Godparent Volunteer Program, Carter’s also provides a team of volunteers at the Disney Send-Off Celebration and Family Reunion Adventures throughout the year. Because of its strong support and unwavering commitment to Bert’s Big Adventure, Carter’s has become a trusted teammate, helping Bert’s Big Adventure accomplish more each year.
As a token of our appreciation, we’re going behind the scenes of our Fairy Godparent program and bragging about a volunteer every first Friday of the month! Won’t you help us in making them feel extra special and loved?
