Position: Unpaid Internship
Duration: Spring 2025 (January 20th – April 25th)
*We are willing to work with start and end dates as they pertain to your semester structure.

About Us: Bert’s Big Adventure is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. Following the annual trip, Bert’s Big Adventure provides year-round support through initiatives such as the Family Reunion Adventures, the Fairy Godparent Volunteer Program and additional charitable services. The trip and programs create a community of families that establish lasting friendships with others facing similar challenges.
Internship Description: As an intern with Bert’s Big Adventure, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various aspects of our year-round programs aimed at fostering community and support for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. You will work closely with our dedicated team to assist in program development and execution, fundraising efforts, social media storytelling, and performance of various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting in the planning and execution of reunions and events for the children and families that Bert’s Big Adventure serves.
- Assisting in various stages of fundraising aimed at supporting Bert’s Big Adventure’s year-round programming.
- Contributing to social media campaigns and storytelling efforts to raise awareness, drive applications, and engage with and grow our community.
- Participating in team meetings to share ideas and collaborate on projects.
- Providing administrative support, including data entry, correspondence, and scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Strong belief in Bert’s Big Adventure’s mission.
- Passion for serving children facing chronic and terminal illnesses.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Marketing, journalism, and social media skill sets are always helpful.
- AP Style editing experience is a big plus!
