On Sunday, April 21st, more than 470 Bert’s Big Adventure family members – including several out-of-state families from Fort Wayne, Charleston, Kansas City, and Michigan – gathered for a fun day at Six Flags Over Georgia for our annual Spring Family Reunion Adventure fueled by Gas South!
Throughout 2024, our gracious friends at Gas South are generously sponsoring our quarterly reunions!
Following the annual trip, Bert’s Big Adventure strives to further strengthen its established community by hosting Family Reunion Adventures. These exclusive events provide our families with year-round opportunities to enjoy more VIP experiences and intimate family time away from doctor visits and hospital stays.
For over 21 years, we have been building an incredible family of families, and on Sunday, we had the honor of introducing our newest Bert’s Big Adventure 2024 families to our beautiful and inclusive community. Bert’s Big Adventure is very proud that when our families return from Disney, their relationship with our organization will continue to deepen through our year-round initiatives.
A few of our Bert’s Big Adventure families were in attendance for the first time in many years, and my, oh my, it was good for the soul to reunite!
It’s safe to say that the Georgia Scorcher and the Goliath didn’t stop making swoops and loops all day, as our kiddos would get back in line as soon as they hopped off! In between rides, we gathered together for lunch under the pavilion! Between bites of crispy chicken tenders, juicy hot dogs, and tangy pasta salad, there were lots of hugs, giggles, and even a few tears as we were so thrilled to be together. As soon as lunch wrapped up, the rain cleared and the sun came out revealing a gorgeous afternoon!
While the reunion “ended” at 2:00, our families were invited to stay as long as they wanted since our tickets were good through the end of the day. So many of our families couldn’t say goodbye that early and stayed until Six Flags kicked us out at 7 p.m. Our time together is just too treasured to be cut short!
Our most heartfelt thanks to our dear friends at Gas South, who are fueling our Family Reunions. Their commitment to our kiddos is unmatched, and we are so thankful for their huge hearts!
