In preparation for a full day of adventure, Bert’s Big Adventure kicked off a gorgeous Saturday with breakfast at the Marina Patio & Terrace at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! The families loved this timeless waterside Victorian-style venue. It was the perfect backdrop for excitedly planning another fun-filled day in the parks!
We filled our bellies with Mickey Waffles with whipped cream, maple syrup, and fresh berries, alongside breakfast pastries, country-style potato casserole, turkey sausage, and so much more! Each and every meal on our five-day journey is extra-special!
After getting fueled up, our crew set off for Disney’s Animal Kingdom! The park features hundreds of species of live animals and is themed around animal conservation. Our kiddos are big-time animal lovers, so it’s the perfect combination.
This memorable day was spent riding roller coasters, souvenir shopping, exploring other Disney parks, and trips to the incredible pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
That evening, we all met back up to take the Monorail to Disney’s Contemporary Resort! The group was treated to a gorgeous buffet filled with Artichokes, Farro Salad with Raisins, Porcini Beef Medallion with Wild Mushrooms and Truffle Butter, Pan-seared Salmon with Preserved Lemon and Caper Beurre Blanc, and so much more! Our Saturday evening buffets are always our most over-the-top delectable!
The menu was so incredible that the Fab 5 – Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Goofy – decided to join us for dinner… and dancing!
That’s right – after dinner, there was a surprise (!!!) dance party with an epic DJ spinning all the best hits! We laughed, played games, and got out the wiggles before one final dance was capped off by the pop of confetti.
We finished the day with dessert and an epic funfetti Minnie Mouse birthday cake for Ivy, who celebrated her 11th birthday with Bert’s Big Adventure! The kiddos adored the Mickey Rice Krispies, an unreal sundae bar, and over-the-top cupcakes.
After dessert, we enjoyed an amazing fireworks display on the W. Rotunda Courtyard during a beautiful Florida evening! It was the perfect ending to a once-in-a-lifetime day!
Another huge thank you to our photographers, Amanda W. Coker, Cassandra Young Photography, Monarch Studio, and Sarah Esther Photography. Thank you to Aslyn Baringer Productions and Salt Run Creative for capturing these magical moments on video!
