On February 22nd, the Bert’s Big Adventure crew embarked on its 16th annual trip to Walt Disney World. As part of the annual tradition, the send-off party was full of excitement, laughs and tears as The Bert Show revealed many surprises to the families during their live broadcast at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel. Some of the surprises included a fully furnished apartment from Rooms To Go, a beautiful treehouse generously donated by Treehouse Experts, and a meet & greet with Adam Anderson- professional monster truck driver. Adam, who currently drives the monster truck ‘Grave Digger,” also presented the family with tickets to Monster Jam! Stay tuned here- on the Bert’s Big Adventure website – throughout the next few weeks and months to see progress on these surprises!
At the end of the show, Atlanta United invited LJ to hammer the Golden Spike at their March 17th home game against Vancouver Whitecaps. He’ll be invited to climb to the top of the platform fronting the stadium’s support section, wind up, and crash the hammer into the club’s Golden Spike as the crowd chants A-T-L!!!
In addition, the Newnan Police Department will provide a police escort for LJ’s family to the game!
Following the send-off party, Cooper Global Transportation shuttled the families to a private airplane hangar where they boarded a chartered flight courtesy of Endeavor Air to Walt Disney World. Employees and supporters from ExpressJet were there to cheer on the families as they walked the red carpet to the airplane! Upon arrival to the happiest place on earth, the families checked in to Disney’s Polynesian Resort and soon headed to the Norway Lofts at Epcot where some very special guests greeted them. After dinner the families closed out the night with a dessert and fireworks on their own private patio, and a ride on our favorite Epcot coaster, Soarin’.
