Bert’s Barbell Adventure was a Crossfit competition to benefit Bert’s Big Adventure on Sunday, December 4th. The competition, hosted by Crossfit Etowah in Woodstock, was a day of heavy weights, lots of cheering and some holiday fun! Blake McDonald and Jeff Rice are head coaches at Crossfit Etowah and have been volunteers for Bert’s Big Adventure for years!
The competition was an all-day event that consisted of three workouts and a championship workout for those that made it to the top four in each division. This was a team competition in which teams of three worked together to complete the workouts. A total of 36 teams participated in the event and the athletes worked extremely hard and gave it their all. The teams even had some of the Bert’s Big Adventure families show up to cheer them on!
Bert’s Barbell Adventure had several wonderful sponsors that helped make this day possible!
Lauren Holt Photography captured every moment of the day.
Endurance House had apparel at the event and supported the event with a donation.
Hennessy Honda made a generous donation to Bert’s Big Adventure.
Kill Cliff donated drinks to each athlete, each volunteer and made a generous donation to Bert’s Big Adventure.
Happy Belly Food Truck served food to the atheletes and supporters in between workouts.
Other vendors included Sassy Skull, Full Tank Nutrition, andBeYou Wrist Wraps, Myosin Fitness, BEAUtiful Med Spa, Marc Pro, Jyl Craven Hair Design, Whiney Blonde Events & Ribley Chiropractic.
Most of the athletes brought their families and our face painter, GG Face Painting, had a line out the door. We even had a special appearance by Santa himself!
Overall, the day was amazing! It was a positive, encouraging and inspirational event. We are so thankful to the athletes that registered to participate in this event, and to the sponsors and vendors that helped make it great. Bert’s Barbell Adventure raised over $10,000 for Bert’s Big Adventure! Thank you to everyone who came out to support and we cannot wait until next year!
