Now that the 2013 trip has wrapped, and everyone has had time to process, we got this beautiful note from the dad of our 2013 Bert’s Big Adventure kid, Zach T.
Dear Bert’s Big Adventure, The Bert Show, Stacey, Bert, Kristin, Jeff, and the Countless other folks who helped out w/Bert’s Big Adventure,
Good Morning! I hope that you all are having a blessed day. I am writing you all because I truly want to express a very heartfelt debt of gratitude and an even bigger Thank You. I would have written sooner, but it has truly taken me the last two weeks to let all that has happened to sink in and for me to process the beginning journey that is Bert’s Big Adventure. It was certainly a wonderful, blessed, whirlwind of awesomeness that I don’t think there are enough words to truly explain all that is the whole Bert’s Big Adventure experience. So, without further adieu….
I’ll be honest. I have been struggling back and forth trying to figure out the most eloquent words to say to you all for the wonderful gift that you bestowed upon my family. I wanted to use the right words to express how grateful my family is for the experience of a lifetime, the warm friendly people, the smiles, the lasting memories, the pure excitement on my kids faces, the 100% attention that you gave to my kids to make them feel like rock stars and the new and expanding family that you have introduced us to. I can not come up with anything other than the two most grateful and powerful that I can think of…Thank You. There is no greater phrase that I can say even with how wordy that I am.
With this trip, what you gave us was….an experience that I would’ve never in my wildest dreams been able to replicate. You, without truly knowing us in the beginning, gave us a chance. You gave us a shot to be normal (as the real world defines it). You gave us freedom that we have never really experienced before. You gave us 100% love. You accepted us with no strings or questions attached.
I know that we weren’t the most outgoing, talkative or maybe even radio worthy family, but please do not mistake that for not being appreciative. We are forever grateful and in debt to you guys. From this point forward, we will help in anyway that we can. We will do what is necessary. You are family to us and we will support you like family should. Thank you for everything that you did and have done in this beginning journey. We cannot thank you enough. You may have made our kids rock stars on the trip, but in reality, you guys are the rock stars for everything that you’ve done. You did not have to choose us, but you did. For that, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
(Please forward this to Stacey. I did not have her e-mail. Thanks.)
Sincerely,
Jason
