Sunshine, smiles, and splashes! Nearly 60 Bert’s Big Adventure families (300+ family members) gathered for our 17th Annual Summer Family Reunion Adventure at Life Time Sandy Springs, fueled by Gas South.
We were especially excited to welcome eight families who traveled from Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida to celebrate with us. Thanks to our generous friends at Gas South, everyone beat the Georgia heat in the best way possible!

Hosted at Life Time in Sandy Springs, families enjoyed exclusive access to the water park, complete with thrilling waterslides, plenty of pool time, and the chance to catch up with friends they only get to see a few times each year. Thank you to Casey and the entire Life Time team for closing the pool so our families could enjoy a private VIP celebration!
No summer pool party is complete without incredible food, and Zaxbys delivered! Families enjoyed their famous Chicken Fingerz, signature chicken sandwiches, and fresh House Zalads while taking a break from the water. Thank you, Zaxbys, for always showing up in a big way for our Bert’s Big Adventure families!
The treats kept coming thanks to Kona Ice, serving up colorful snow cones in every flavor imaginable; from Groovy Grape to Blue Raspberry. Let’s just say there were plenty of purple smiles by the end of the day! Meanwhile, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck kept parents, volunteers, and staff refreshed with iced coffees, cold brews, frappes, and lattes.
Every family member also went home with a one-of-a-kind keepsake thanks to our friends at Button It Up, Inc., who airbrushed custom hats for everyone throughout the afternoon.
Our friends at Eco Tech Services donated all of the water and Gatorade for the event – which was so needed due to the heat! Thank you to Mike and the entire Eco Tech team for keeping us hydrated!
Of course, DJ Jobe kept the energy high all afternoon. Between waterslide races and cannonballs, kids crowded the pool deck to dance, request their favorite songs, and create memories that will last long after summer ends. Thank you, Jobe, for bringing the party!
We also had a special surprise from under the sea, Princess Ariel, and her fellow pirate matey who swam up to say shell-o to all our sweet kiddos!
Last but not least, thank you to our wonderful photographers and videographers for capturing all the amazing moments at the reunion! Days like these remind us that Bert’s Big Adventure is so much more than a trip, it’s a family that continues to grow, celebrate, and support one another year after year.
